I started this week out with a complete cad model of the Magic the gathering gift for my brother in law. My first steps were to cut out of cardboard a test version first then I fine tuned some of the parts and cut it out of wood. I also decided to add my brother in laws initials on the back as an added personal touch. I chose to changed the design of the spinners so that they would be better held in the piece and not fall out. I used glue to hold all the parts together so I could ensure nothing would come apart. Once I had finished the wooden piece I printed out a new life counter to go with it and spent some time cleaning that up. I also glued the life counter together as I did not glue the first one together and I found it worked better when glued. I also painted the first one which looked good but spray paint is all we have in shop and that was the wrong paint to use. This one I will be painting at home with brushes and acrylic paint.
