This past weekend I cut out all the braces for my chair at my house using my miter saw. When I got to school I first sanded them all down to remove any rough edges. After the pieces were sanded I stained them all to match the finish of the chair. Once stained I was able to attach them to the chair. I first screwed them into the side and then to the top of the braces. Now sitting on the chair it feels much more stable.

After testing the chair with some skate boards on it last week I realized that it was not very comfortable to sit on which motivated me to make a new seat and back for the chair. I tried to keep the design of the seat and back simple while also keeping the look of the chair in mind. Once I had a design I cut it out of cardboard and once I knew I was happy with it it was time to cut it out of wood. The chair seat cut out good but I had to try and cut the back out multiple times just because the wood I am using has very limited space. I stall haven't got the seat back to cut out well so today I will hopefully cut it out properly.
