This week I ran into some difficulties when it came to cutting out my new lamp base on the water jet. For some reason that I do not yet know the water jet kept running into issues when trying to cut out this piece. I believe the issues are related to the machines air pressure limit. Every time I tried cutting the piece out it would stop cutting, and to get it to continue the reset or override switch would need to be triggered. Although this continued the cut the geometry of the piece would not be correct.

This photo shows all the incorrect shapes that came from resetting/overriding the machines limit. I have no idea why any of these look the way that they do but even though they are technically mess ups they still look cool.

This picture shows the one correct cut that was made. This piece didn't come out perfect just because the margin of error on the water jet is larger than the mill, but it still would have been good enough. The only thing is that I need two pieces for the clamp to work so for now this isn't gonna be put to use. Instead I will be using the resin printer to print out the clamp, next week. This will be both stronger than a regular 3D printer and hopefully not run into any issues (Knock on Wood).
