This week I spent most of my time working on my Bass Guitar project. In order to visualize the final body and size of the bass I cut it out of cardboard. This was helpful since I now see some specific things I wish to change. firstly the body is a little thicker than I like so I will be changing the thickness slightly. Also the current design does not include comfort carves, which after holding the bass I now want to add. "Comfort Carves" are curves put into the body to make it more comfortable while playing. popular guitar bodies that include comfort carves would be the Stratocaster style or the jazz bass body along with many other guitars. Prominent guitars that do not include comfort carves would be the Les Paul or a Telecaster style guitar.
I received the bridge saddles that I will be using in the mail this week so I modeled two of them into my model for the bass. This was a major checkpoint since now the bridge I modeled is sized to the exact saddles I will be using. I plan to 3D print a test of the bridge just to make sure everything fits correctly.
